K2 Kompetition

Thank you Andrew Denny for your vote of confidence that this IS a boating blog!! I do love your blog, but I have to say in the K1 and K2 Kompetition, Andy is 1-0 up! He has the home advantage - his boat IS his home already!
Instead another weekend in the Lakes for me. No the picture is not out of focus, it's me on the summit at 902m! in high winds (60mph+) and freezing fog (vis down to 25 feet!). Still managed to squeeze in the 3rd and 6th highest English peaks. If you know them, you know where to post the details! Although nearly got completely blown off the top, and misjudging the time totally, (I never wear a watch) walked off the final slopes in the dark! (It's ok you mountain rescue people, I went prepared with torches, light sticks, stoves, bivouac etc, could've stayed all night if I needed to!)
Is it the end of January all ready? K2 seems no nearer at the moment, and with an economic slowdown forecast and businesses being devalued by billions of dollars / pounds, I carry on wondering when that steel will be laid down. Meanwhile I carry on working!!

Small World!!

There we go!! Over Christmas my neighbours gate to the back of his house in land locked Yateley, opened in the winds we had. I went to shut it, but found that it needed some slight adjustment to make sure it stayed shut. So hammer and screwdriver later - Job done.
Today Ben came round to supply thank you beers, and spotted my copies of Towpath Talk on the conservatory table... conversation started and I discovered his Dad owns Get Knotted and is currently engaged in renovating an 18 foot long rope fender - Obviously not for a Narrow Boat!!
Although he makes all sorts of rope fenders and is very Narrow Boat situated right on the Grand Union, and next door to a pub!! Seems to me that K2 will be fitted out with his handiwork I think!!
Sorry Ben - nicked the photo from the web site - hope you don't mind...
