No Pictures!!

However, last week that famous toilet broke again! It was the vacuum breaker, that broke! The result was loads of fresh water all over the bathroom floor - Again!! Still nothing that £27 and a weeks flight from the USofA couldn't fix. So 5 minutes before friends Matt and Jo and family, Suzi and Dan, daughter number 3 - Cara, and Julie and Chelsie all turned up for a visit and bar-b-que, I was under the toilet again. Hey but it's fixed and OK now.
And I've a new china-mans hat for the chimney...

Well, mucho food was eaten, and wine drunk, but I couldn't persaude my guests that they really needed a cruise, so K2 remained glued to the pontoon. Well actually, not quite. The high winds and boat movement are stretching my new mooring lines, and so she now sits a couple of feet away from that wood!

Well, that's it for now, Oh - except for a random picture of K2 in the rain, on the Grand Union.

Swapping water for the road..

Few days of blogging quiet, due to a London to Paris bike ride, in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care - the Leasedrive chosen charity. After clogging a road up in central London with 14 riders and 4 support vehicles, the open road took over, and 4 days later everyone arrived safely in Paris, and Marie Curie are £16,000 plus better off. Fantastic opportunity, and a very worthwhile cause.

Back to K2, still with a leaky washing machine, a vacuum breaker for the toilet on order from the States, no internet, and now finding the wind has blown the top hat off the chimney. No amount of dredging with the sea searcher found it, so it's off to the chandler for a new one, and some bolts!!
This weekend sees a group of people coming up to spy on K2 - so could be a fun time...

BogExpert !!

One down, a few to go!! With thanks to Lee Sanitation at Fenny Compton, and especially Michael, who emailed through the exploded toilet view (LOL!) So I exploded my toilet and stripped out the solenoid and rubber flange, cleaned them and put them back together, and now the toilet is flushing ok again - and I am an expert on the finer workings of the Vacu-flush bog system!

Now, where's my club hammer and crowbar to take a look at this little lot?!!

Going wrong !!

A list of things beginning to unravel on K2! I'm sure some of them are due to the fact that although she has never been used, she has sat idle for over a year since fit-out completion.
Here's the list -
1. Toilet - the fantastic vacuum loo, last night started to fill with fresh water even when everything is switched off - the only way to stop it is by switching off the water pump. This could be the water valve that has got stuck, but I can't seem to fix it, despite having taken the toilet and flush system apart!
2. Electrics - the Master Volt system doesn't seem to be synchronized to the batteries, so it thinks they are 100% charged when in fact they are not!
3. The Makuni heating system leaks water, so the radiators get de-pressurised.
4. The brand new washing machine leaks water in it's spin cycle

Oh well - keep plodding on, and fix this lot one at a time!

Boat to Boat!

The Arcadia - 3 days on board last week as part of the IT Directors Forum. 3 days of working hard!! 3 days of being slightly contraversial as usual.. The most interesting sentence all week was from one "consultant" who said the CIO needs to be a business director who is competent at IT. I was almost the only one who agreed!!
Tell you what though, whilst the bath in Arcadias' cabin was smaller than the one on K2......
The exhaust stack was slightly bigger!!

However, Friday nights mooring was Gurnsey, Saturdays was Hilmorton - as you already know!!

There is no contest where I would rather be, and which company I would rather keep.
